I have this (1776-1976 - Liberty - Half Dollar) and its in this protective type of molding? Or whatever you call that. So maybe its special or something, I HOPE SO!

it says 50th Anniversary Prins Insurance in it. What the heck is prins insurance? lol.

also, just so you know, that stain and little scraches are all on the cube thing. not the coin. (figured you know that) but just making sure lol.

is it rare or worth anything?

@HCN, it looks like a common bicentennial half dollar entombed in Lucite or some other clear moldable plastic. On the interwebs I see multiple Prins Insurance companies.

oh :( lol. Yeah I'm actually posting on this forum all my coins I know nothing about. anytime I google one of them or look on ebay, I get different answers saying they arent worth anything or saying they are worth a ton, and its the same exact coin.. I dont know what site to believe lol, its confusing.

but thank god for this website. everyone so far has been super helpful to my older post.

Yes for sure you will see multiple opinions, even on this one website. To me, at least, this is worth only face value and if someone is going to offer you a premium for it, then I would take it. Or maybe I'm just missing something?

Probably a Christmas give away paper weight as been said get what you can which won't be much. There are collectors for such exonumia embedded coins but generally they don't bring much.

A lot of websites and youtubers will talk about common coins saying theyre extremely rare and worth tons of money because, well, thats what gets them views. Usually, if anything, it would have to be insanely high grade to be worth anything. This half dollar is only worth face value unfortunately.
