Looks like USA is wider looking. But if the devices were flattened, that maybe the cause. Hard to tell from this far away what we are looking at.

No much listed that year/mint on the sites. Kind of looks like a contact mark with something straight that hit the reverse?

Looks pretty normal from images of that year on the reverse:

The one I posted is a graded coin (MS-67) So the issue may have been what was normal for that year.

That is why when it looks too good to be true, my next step back is to compare to a normal coin. (Always use the same year/mint when possible) The devices sizes can vary from different years.
