For the second time I again encountered this 2 with something extra.
The last time was on a 2018 Wisconsin Quarter. Is this really common or another type of error/variety?

Just damage to the coin. Well your probably wondering why it didn't affect the letters? Well the letters there are not raised. They are incuse. So coin contact on that area will show as damage, but not affect the devices.
