I thought this could be very interesting for a few collectors out there........hopefully? I'll start it off with this piece: It's a German hyper-inflationary notgeld issue from Attendorn, issued on an old milk ration card!!

.......precisely that. If something was there to be printed on to make even more banknotes, then why not use it! Actual printing paper was getting more and more expensive throughout the inflationary period.

Here is an Austrian piece with hand-written serial number, face value and signature (the lower signature is a faksimile). The reverse side shows that it was printed on a military field postcard ('feldpost').

I'll do some more specific ration cards ......and then move on to other interesting things This is an Austrian piece of notgeld, issued in Neustift-Innermanzing and issued on a slightly different type of ration card......a 'Fettkarte'. 'Fettprodukte = Fat products......butter, margarine, pure fat (reinfette), a certain amount of fat by weight (wechenmenge fett).....etc etc.

.....and I think the last 'ration card' for now.....'zucker' (sugar) So we have covered the main foodstuffs here, I believe...........bread, flour, milk, sugar. You also have 'hausbrot' (house bread - the cheap type of bread the local bakery made) and 'kartoffel' potato)

Now onto something a bit different. A large hyper-inflationary banknote created by re-using 3 smaller and uncut, earlier issue 5m banknotes!
