Yes, I certainly realize that grade isn't determined by features in the red box alone. That was one example.
In any event, after carefully examining a slew of PCGS and NGC XF40-AU53 graded
Mercury dimes, I'm certain these two would be AU50 minimum any day of the week.
If you can find a PCGS or NGC merc at XF40 that looks as good as this 27-S, I'd love to see photos!

Mercury dimes is certainly not limited to reverse features.
Bidding on these two coins ends momentarily. I considered them, but in the end decided not to bid. This seller's photos seem off to me. My instinct tells me these coins were dipped and retoned, these do not say "crusty original" to me.
