Trying to determine grade on this ebay item # 174187709170 to me obv = AU50 and the rev = VF35. New to this series just don't know where to pull the trigger at (safe bid) Thinking about it for my 7070 and what's up with the date.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to help me out and educate me more....

I'm with XF as its grade.
Nickel-metal coins were giving the Mint fits at that time.

as stated these coins were difficult to stamp and show weakness somewhere, normally in the shield, leaves and stars. the luster is strong on this coin on both sides. the actual wear from circulation is minimal. I look at the highest points of the relief on these. the rims and beading are strong. I think its in the AU range at least AU53 and maybe 55. my only concern is looking at the rim from the reverse side I'm hoping it wasn't in some type of pendant. look at the rim above STATES

@ Panraldi and others...do you feel the issue with the reverse rim could be the effect due to rim fins or Cuds?
