Some notgeld issues were definitely 'swindle' issues - they were not what they appeared to be. This great looking example is from Suederbrarup and was issued by the trickster 'Heinrich Appel':   Today, these notgeld pieces are still highly collected. Some of his pieces are signed 'Loppa' - a made up name close to his real name but reversed! 21 - Fakers (includes Swindlers, Speculators and Tricksters etc)

With the picture of the red cross, the doctor and the patient, what body issued this wonderful looking note from Saulgau? It was the 'Allgemeine OrtsKrankenkasse', otherwise known as the 'AOK'... 23 - General Local Sickness Insurance Funds

Very rare, these pieces were issued for a 'circus and county fair':  There is a lot more info about this set in my book 'German Gems'. 26 - Festivals & Carnivals

Don't forget, some of the pieces I am showing in this thread are very scarce and most collectors want have come across them. This piece issued in Waltershausen was issued by a 'Fussballverein':  28 - Football Clubs

This piece was issued by Carl H. Lange, a 'Briefmarken- u Notgeld- Groshandler'  He was making money from buying and selling notgeld, so why not create his own piece! 29 - Notgeld & Stamp Dealers
