Hi guys, let me preface this inquiry with the following: These coins are being offered to me by one of my European dealers, which means I only have these pictures to go off. Also, I typically only buy European world crown size coins from this specific dealer for 15 - 35 Euros a coin (depending on type and condition). So far, of the couple hundred coins I have purchased, all have been legit. That said, these early US dollars are outside this dealers forte... And my own for that matter, as I usually collect "inexpensive" US coins(Morgans, Barbers, Peace, Walkers, ect) and large foreign silver crown sized coins. These coins appear legit to my untrained eyes, but I wanted a few extra eyes and opinions from collectors who have experience with draped bust and Trade dollars... Also, considering they appear cleaned, what would be a good dealer price for these coins and what would be a fair collector price, individually? I don't want to insult my European dealer, nor do I want to overpay... Thanks in advance guys! 1799 Draped Bust 1798 Draped Bust 1876 S Trade Edited by MasterKromm 02/09/2020 06:26 am

Just my opinion, they look ok to me. You can also research past sold values on ebay, Heritage, and Great Collections.

They all look cleaned (dipped) to me. IMO they all should be slabbed to confirm authenticity and condition. Too much money involved.

Trade dollar AU Details harshly cleaned $125 to $150 1798 F Details cleaned or dipped $650 to $750 1799 F Details cleaned or dipped $650 to $750 There is nothing special about these coins as they all have the washout cleaned look. The deal should be made on the contingency that the coins grade genuine by a TPG of your choice or your money back.

They all look genuine but (unfortunately) cleaned.

Cleaned. Luckily for bust dollars there is a market for cleaned examples.

Genuine but cleaned. Though this post caused me great pain. Please only handle coins by the edges. Please.

@ John1,
The dealer wants to know what I am willing to pay... Which is why I reached out to you guys. What would be an absolute steal per coin?
@ edweather
Thanks
@ Kanga
Definitely cleaned... I understand the risk, though I am sure this dealer would make me whole if they came back counterfeit.
@ Slider
Thanks for the prices! Would you consider those fair or steal territory? I don't want too wrap up too much money in the coins and might like to sell one of the two draped bust dollars.
@ Coinfrog
Definitely cleaned, but I would imagine still a market for coins like the draped bust?
@ CalzoneManiac
Thanks for the input
@ GrapeCollects
I wasn't handling the coin! Those are the pictures I was sent, but I will definitely relay the sound advice.

So if I wanted an absolute steal, what would be the best price I should submit, without offending the seller too much? I am normally reasonable, but when a dealer tells me to make them an offer, I am inclined to go low since I am sure they will counter.
Thanks for the input and insight.

$700 for each Bust, maybe $150 for the Trade.

I figure the dealer is into the coins for about $1100. My numbers were based on a fair price for both parties. I agree you need to get your opening offer to where it is not an insult, but you have room for negotiation.
