EDIT Anyone know rarity? approx value? worth slabbing? Thank you 1957 d LWC with what I would say is fat numbers of the date? but more interesting is what looks to be a raised E in the field part of the coin and the raised line is also in between the horizontal legs of the E. its shifted north and east the same amount both top and bottom I dont notice any listings even close and was looking for some help as to what this might be? DDO ? or just a really really odd die dent that looks like an E ? or ? Thank you Edited by themaineway 02/10/2020 7:48 pm

Thank you tanman2001 for the direction and exactly what this is. The site showed a 1957 D Ive never seen one before I will do more reading from the link on counter clashes as I'm still not sure on how this happens. I surf that site all the time just never got to those. Thank you for saving this coin from the jar of unknowns...lol

opinions please is this a different die than the one listed in the link? to me the mint mark in the link picture looks to be slightly tilted to the left were as this one looks to be slightly tilted to the right? and the 5 looks fatter too to me...... Thank you

It would have to be the same die. The odds of there being another counterclash showing a similar doubling/offset in the same location and on the same date would be astronomical.
Also, the die scratches above the R match.

Thank you tanman2001 for pointing the die scratch matching. Thank you john1 for the advice of a 2x2 although a 2x2 still doesn't mean its safe here with me...lol I find little info on this error This leads me to my final questions I take it this is a rather rare? and if so how rare? would it be worthy of a slab for conservation reasons? and will they slab/label this error? Finally might someone be able to give a "ball park" value as I find almost nothing on the web....... Thank you both again, have a great day......

Thank you coinfrog and willburton Glad I asked the pro's on this one.... Still wondering on rarity, its rough value? and if it makes worth slabbing (if they acknowledge this type?)

Die scratches are a match. So it is from the same die.

Value is subjective. It's worth what someone is willing to pay you for it. If you were to buy this, what would you pay for it? You might check ebay completed sales for a rough idea of what error coins actually sell for and go from there. Good luck!

An error collector might be interested in this coin if he doesn't already have one. But finding the right person might take some time. Mark it for now and save it.
