I'm new to the site. I received my fathers coin collection. He just collected and had no value data. He had a few coins marked in little bags that were labeled error. The first I need help with determining if a error actually exist is on a pair of 1945 P nickels. One seems to be struck possibly multiple times on the proof mark. You can see the darker one has a different looking P mint. Also all the lettering seems much more raised. My next question is he has two 1944 P pennies together. no mint marks so assume they are from the Pensilvania mint. They seem to be made of two different materials. Any help to the mystery or values of these would be appreciated.
Maybe he saved the nickels due to them being made of 35% silver. As far as the cents go, copper can take on many colors due to the environment. You can compare the mint marks of the nickels at Varietyvista.com for any RPMs... to CCF...
