I can't see anything on your coin, but to answer your question, Yes there is both Machine "Tripling" (same cause as Machine Doubling but rarer, still no premium value) and it is also possible to have tripled hubbings a TDO or TDR (There are also Quad and Quint hubbings known. but these are seldom encountered.)
But on your coin, you are probably seeing Machine Doubling. On mahcine doubling there is no triple/quad strike issue, because the coins are only struck once. But the machine can move in multiple directions on MD that makes it look like it is showing 2-3 different directions if the machine is that loose.
The on the double/triple/quadruple dies even though it is struck once, the doubling is on the dies, not caused by the machines. So they are a die issue, not a strike issue.
