Well I couldn't find a thread that already existed here about this, so I'll make one.

What's the best coin/etc that you have found in your pocket change?

Mine would have to be a 1928 Nickel (I don't know the grade, but the ridges are defined, the veins on the leaves are visible, but there are some scrapes on the reverse. Obverse is mostly wear on the picture of George V, but all words are very clear). About 4.5 million were made, one of my rarest that I've found the mintage number for.

I look forward to seeing what everyone's found!

Nice find from change! The rarest coin I have noticed receiving in change is probably the 2000P nickel (the other day from Tim Horton's). I have found better stuff by roll-hunting, though.

I was also excited to have found a 1941-S large S Jefferson nickel from change while recently visiting the US. It's not too rare or expensive. But that was one of the few remaining entries on my Jefferson nickel list, and I got it in change from In-N-Out burger!

Two weeks ago my friend picked up a 18885 Indian head on the side walk she said it's a penny to me and gave it to me ,it was rough but still what a score.

Anytime I am lucky enough to get real silver in change, I consider it to be a score. Usually, though, it's just for the melt value, because I have rarely found a really nice coin (condition-wise) that way.

I usually have better luck finding cash on the sidewalk, actually.

My best find in change had to be a 1909 US penny, although I didn't know it at the time. Whenever I go to the U.S., I pay attention to my change, and anything that looks like it's worth checking out later goes into the other pocket -- this includes Wheat cents, and anything that looks saveable. I am forever putting State Quarters into the other pocket to check out later, not to mention anything that looks "old".
