Got bit by the coin bug and started scouring all my coin jars for anything that stands out. Found this penny with no mint mark, which also has a very reddish color to it compared to other pennies, with blue hues with light reflection at different angles. Is this anything, or a plain old penny?

The no MM means it was minted in Philadelphia.
2017 is the only year a cent had the P mm.
The colouring is due to toning.

Nice toning. Good, clean example of a 2005 cent. Keep it if you like it.

Not really "old" by coin standards, but it's in nice shape for being 15 years old. Probably spent most of it's life in a penny jar someplace. It has nice toning. Officially, any sort of colouring like this is considered damage, but it has nice eye appeal. A keeper for sure!

Just the beginnings of toning, not a bad one either. Typically the older they get the more profound the toning becomes.
