Before I was 21 years old, I had completed a pre decimal type set of Australian silver and bronze coins 1910-1964,
with each type represented by the rarest date for the type (except the 1930 Penny, which was substituted with a 1925,) grade VF-Unc.
Also completed an Australian gold type set of 17 gold coins, which included an Adelaide Pound.

I was lucky enough as a teenager with a decent wage, to pay for them all - worked in a family business.

Sold the lot Via Noble Numismatics in 1976, the money paid for about 10% of the value of our first house, as a mortgage deposit.

Since the introduction of Decimal 1966, I have always taken two of the best examples that I could find, of every type of issued into circulation coin only, at face value.
This collection has always been kept up to date and current, all in Unc condition.
Never bothered with Australian 'bright 'n shiny' NCLT Mint product issues.

(Have been into ancients, hammered, milled and World coins of all cultures and centuries, since 1976, with a decent library to support these interests.)

Nice Sel would be worth a lot more today for the set, however the House is worth even more ahahaha.

only have I would say most of the decimal in circulation however stilling looking for a Red 2012 poppy that not too much costly and 1985 and 1988, 20 cent from circulation :S. I'm still trying to get many of the florin and early silvers, however gold is just too expensive at the moment.

As for the set nice type set for the newbie. :D
