All,

Looking to see if anyone has seen the toning of this particular coin. I have Hundreds of Morgans, but this one looks nothing like the rest.

Sounds like Silver, Neomagnet slides slowly, just looks odd as there is great depth and details around the face on the obverse and around the eagle on the reverse, pocket piece maybe?

It looks like it may have been totally black at some point and someone tried to clean it. Still I think a straight graded g4 is around 120$ coin Someone might like the chocolate color

I'd say F-12, I don't see any signs of cleaning. That scratch behind the head might detail it, but it's a decent looking coin.

I just realized this is the grading section and now feel obligated to give a grade, VG 10 details. But you should probably wait for someone more experienced.

I'm at VG-10 and lean toward straight.
Rest in Peace

This one acquired a very dark patina and continued to circulate after. I would call it straight grade with a very unusual circulation cameo but others including the TPG's may call it environmental damage specifically the very dark splotches on the obverse.

VG-10 and I think it will straight grade. At this low of a grade small issues usually get a pass.

I don't like the color, but then, I don't like any coloring on a coin... DIP... lol I would dip this one to try to bring it back. {flack jacket now on} I would use it as a hole filler until I picked up a shiny one. IMHO

I think dipping this one would make it look far worse. It is 100% original right now even though very dark.

Dipping this coin would likely lower the value dramatically.
