I have been spending the last few days using my krause for one of the first times. I came out alright grading and finding values for the huge bunch of france coins that I have.......until now.

I am looking up the 2 franc coins from 1944. I have a 1944B 2 francs and for some reason there is no values listed for this coin. Anyone know why? It says 170,000 were minted compared to the millins minted in other years and mint marks but thats all it says. Mine is in almost uncirculated condition with just a little bit of something on the edge of one side.

anyone have good info on french coins? km numbers?

It's a low mintage compared to the rest of the series. It appears that Krause was not able to find any info on sales of this coin hence no price listed. Based on the low mintage this might have a high value.

There are two types of 2 franc coins issued in 1944 with the B mark. The first is KM# 904.2 under German occupation made of alum. This is valued in XF-$6.00, and UNC at $18.00.

The second is KM# 866a.2 also in alum. This was issued under allied occupation. Without a picture I take it as the one you have. I checked a few sources and was unable to find any value on this one.

maybe I am just having a brain freeze after looking up so many coins. I was trying to match by picture and the pictures aren't matching up. It probably is just a normal coin but I can't find it right. lol

thanks for your help so far, here is the picture

This is the Vichy State (Nazi puppet state) coin. Values as echizento quoted.

Ja... tis is nice condition tho! I've a few of these (being minted under Third Reich control, so falls into my area of interes), but none as nice as this one! The Alu coins from the 30's and 40's (and the late 40's early 50's SBZ) really don't wear very well.

As far as I can tell, this one is a keeper!! :)
