Hey there, I'm new to the coin community and also rather new to coin collecting and numismatics.

I'm from the west coast of BC, Canada and I have recently begun collecting coins.

Because old Canadian pennies are nigh impossible to come by in circulation, I've tasked myself with searching bank boxes of nickels. Compared to what I've heard from other fellow Canadians, I've had more success in finding "young head" nickels than most.

More to the point, I'm in need of some help identifying one of the most recent flea market finds I've acquired.

It is a 1923 Canadian King George Nickel with nice detail but a rather major damage on the obverse. However, it appears to have some sort of mint error (maybe a filled die or another die error?) on the reverse. I have tried researching this particular error but have come up empty handed.

If that's not allowed here I will try to post them in the replies.

I bought the coin along with a 1954 silver Roosevelt dime and a 1936 P Buffalo nickel in (F-VF condition) for $10.

I'd love some feedback and any tips for Canadian nickel hunting. Please share your thoughts!

@NiL, first welcome to CCF. Second, with regard to where to post your question about the '23 nickel, I'd recommend starting a new thread over on the Canadian Variety and Error section of CCF. Here is a link to take you there:
