I noticed this very strange Die chip? on the front claw of the 1959 beaver, That area is usually flat and polished for most years. It shows up in a whole roll of nickles that I HAVE. tHERE is also a grease mark that looks like a spider that shows up between the bottom leading water line and the middle one. Sorry for the non clear photo of that one Does anyone know anything about this long claw and water spider? Cheers!!

I had a look at my 1957 to 60's, and you are right that the 1959 foot area is different from the other years. However, it's not an error, it's just made that way - mine are the same. The foot/leg is clear on the 59, not there on the others. The "spider" thing is also normal, just more clearly defined lines than the other years.
