I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me if this is a double die or Machine Doubling. Also can anyone explain the difference clearly because kinda having trouble with the difference between the two. Thank you.

Classic Machine Doubling. Flat shelf like. Contour is removed from the coin. Happened right after the strike. Not a doubled die. (On a doubled die, the doubling is on the die.) Machine Doubling is damage caused to the devices on a coin after the strike happened.
