PCGS - French nobleman Baron Pierre de Coubertin is credited for announcing the revival of the Olympic Games in 1892 with the first Olympiad since ancient times in Athens beginning on this day in 1896. While no commemorative coins were made for the occasion, award medals were made.

One such medal is this 1896 Participants Medal, Wurzbach-410 Bronzed AE, Greece graded PCGS MS64 (Population 1. None finer.)
