The title for your coin is wrong. It is not an issue with an improper annealing issue. It is a poor mix of the copper stock that was rolled out into the stock material. [red]How is this issue than a rolling stock line issue. On woody coins, even when the coin is worn, the wood affect will still be present. (in other words it is not just a surface issue) On the rolling lines issue on the copper planchets of the 1960-80s cents. When the mint BU finish is gone from the coins, then these rolling lines are seen. But the kicker is, they wear off with further circulation. A woody doesn't wear off.

So they rolling lines are a surface issue. The woody is a poor mix of the stock metal.
