Yes looks like damage to me too, although I can see why you would ask.

I see something about this coin that is interesting on a totally different angle. (No premium for it though) But note the darkened areas and the areas still showing color. Do you see the finger prints on this coin. Note that they tend to get darker where the finger prints are. It was always a theory about the these finger prints changing the color from the original color, to a darker brown color. This coin confirms this happening on it. So it looks like my theory that if enough fingerprints happen on a coin, then it turns a darker brown in color. Just never seen a coin that confirms this.

Coop, I didn't know that! I'm excited you used my coin as an example. As a new collector I read a lot of your posts and I'm thankful you take the time to explain what you see in detail in your replies, it is appreciated.

You just had the coin that I needed for a post to show the color transformation. We often see finger prints on a coin or we see them when they are brown. Yours was the one I was waiting for to use for this educational purpose. I was trained with the yes or no answers. It look 15 years to learn that way. Now I accelerate the process. So most new ones can learn in months what it look me from years of yes and not answers. Also using images make a great impression to remember subjects. Copy them when you see something that you want to save. It is a hard to find them after they scroll off the on day page. (Search option helps, but also shows a lot of different ones until you find the one your looking for) So it is best to save them for your own personal educational files. (soon you will be teaching others)
