Got this in change yesterday and everypart of me is screaming PMD! But the edge still has letters and numbers either on it or half on from the obverse. I've seen other mint errors that I thought No way, so here it is.

Quicker than a cat aren't you. I agree, was there a coin Denver minted that year that is even close to that in any case?

Yeah it definitely was touched ungracefully. I just didn't know how they would leave the serial number on the edge? Or whatever that number is

Trying to make a coin that could be used in a vending machine as a dime. (back then a soda was 10 cents) Anothr means to create these were to dip the coins in acid at the school chemistry lab:

Yeah I've heard they did that. I think I've had a few of those science experiments. I don't think this one was acid, Lincoln and the date look like they gained some metal. Your probably right though
