1958 D Lincoln Wheat Cent - Lamination Error Looks Like Struck Through Word

I thought this was a struck through LIBERTY when I first saw it. Pretty sure it's just an odd little lamination error though.

The word-like thing is pretty deeply incuse, although the optical illusion on the close up may make it look raised.

Might want to check with Mike Diamond on this one? It does look a lot like LIBERTY. But my next question would be, 'What happened on the '8' on the date, it this wasn't a lamination issue?"

You're the expert - doesn't look like any lamination I've ever seen.

The only thing I can figure is where the letters are weaker on the area in question, it may have split off the dropped phrase and landed on the '8' on the date area? That would, I feel be an answer to my question posted on the other post.
