What you've got are the Zinc rots working their way up to the surface, good for conversation piece, otherwise it is a spender.

to the CCF! Ewww! It's Zinc Rot! The copper layer has bubbles from the zinc layer breaking down underneath. It's a common form of damage and doesn't have any value.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Zinc rot? That sounds terrible! What a strange thing to happen to a coin.

Quote: Zinc rot? That sounds terrible! What a strange thing to happen to a coin. It is terrible! Modern U.S. one cent coins are made cheaply to save money, and this is the inevitable result because of how they are made, unless they are carefully kept from the moment they are issued. You will find few fans of the copper coated one cent coins.

Haha... Not sure if anyone has seen the movie Joe Dirt but I kink of feel like him carrying that "meteorite" around in his wagon, only to find out it was, well, not that.
