RogerRamjet Valued Member United States 172 Posts	Posted 03/11/2020 5:03 pm Your "hobo nickel", the carved 1937 nickel showing the sun and the moon, is outstanding. It's an unusual subject, beautifully executed, and it has a great patina showing that it's a legitimate vintage hobo nickel. Any hobo nickel collector would love it. Do not clean it. Put it in a coin holder. (A clean zip lock bag makes a good temporary coin holder.) The value depends upon what buyers you can find. I'm not a hobo nickel collector and have no way to purchase it from you but I'd pay $40 for a really nice one like that. It's a legitimate work of art. Nice find. Report this Post to the Staff

The 2x2 one is a copy of an Aleksey Saburov coin, not sure on the other one.I wouldn't be surprised if the reverse shows a D mintmark and a 3 legged buffalo as the copies often use that die. The large silver-dolalr-sized item with the old man carrying a stick and bag, is an Islamic "good luck charm" or "magic coin" from South-East Asia (Indonesia/Malaysia).
