I found a 1972 penny that has "IN GOD" very skinny and "WE TRUST" normally thick. also the L in liberty is just as skinny. The penny is in great shape. What is this?

One of two things, and I would have to see the coin to tell you definitively which it is...

1. a weakly hubbed die.

2. an overpolished die.

Either one would be rather common.
