On a doubled die, the devices are doubled not on the outside edges of the coin, but on the center of the devices. MD is always on the outside edges of the devices. Sometimes the bounce is so high it affected the upper parts of the devices.

But note on the extreme bounced devices, you see the metal also pushed higher like pushed snow. On a doubled die the spread is on the centers of the devices:

Also note the devices are enlarged on the doubled dies. Machine Doubling reduces the devices:
