Thank you MorgansRmine you gave me the answer I was looking for two years and couldn't find,
I've been scratching my head over an 1878 S (ANACS MS 62) could not find the VAM for this,
looked in VAMworld and must of missed it more than a hundred times looked in the C,C,of E with no luck and to-night I was thumbing through the threads and found one with the exact key points and there it was
a 1878 S VAM 17 I'll post the key points

the hair being separated near the neck is the key thing I look for on the vam-17 and the VAM-17-A (with all the cool clashing). My VAM-17 has some of the clashing exhibited on the VAM-17A but looks like it was minted after they had polished away some of the more excessive clash marks on the Reverse

I did look for clash marks when I first received the coin and again while I had the coin under the microscope before I posted I couldn't see any as there are a some scratches in the reverse so I didn't look that hard regards Harry
