Please review what everyone has said. There is no three. The "3" you think you see as outlined by your overlay would be huge, nothing close to what a real three (if there was one) would be. Coop has shown what the real 1943 would look like. There is no "four over three" error cent, that's why you were unable to find any mention on the internet. There is no three on your coin.

C'mon, Sam! Tell you what - submit it to PCGS, and if it comes back as an overdate as you suggest, I will pay all grading fees, no questions asked, plus I'll send you $100 for the insult.  Edited by Coinfrog

The sad truth is in today's society nobody wants to work for their money anymore. So they try to find imaginary errors in everyday coinage, hoping to make a quick buck. You hear stories all the time of people who win the lottery, and not even two weeks later, they're homeless and all they've got to show for their wealth are a couple of cheap Las Vegas T-shirts they got for $5.

Wow, how are to presume I need money? I am a retired military Disabled Veteran, I get good money. I already did my job, you are safe and working here in the Homeland aren't you. I guess I was taught in a different School system than you. This is a three (3) where I come from, it is hard to believe that no one else can see it and to think you guys are giving people advice on coins, a 3 is a 3 and they are double the size of the 4's on the coin s in 1943. I will not post here anymore you folks are experts supposedly, so why don't you help people and quit being jerks and you might establish a better report with the newbies on this site.

I can certainly see what you are talking about but it just is not a 3. As stated previously if you are that convinced send it to PCGS, but you will be disappointed.

Edit: Looking at the other post you made on this forum, I'd say you're a troll. In that case, hopefully Bobby blocks you good. Both for trolling and for the snarky, "I'm older than you so I know more than you" remarks you made to us. I don't care who the heck you are, you have NO right to attack us that way.
There's a reason I don't touch these forums with a 10-foot pole. So many arrogant twits in our society who think they know everything, and refuse to listen to anyone else because BY GOLLY, they've got an error, and they're not gonna listen to anyone else's opinions. In fact, I don't really even care about errors anymore because for every one legit error, there's 99 clowns who think they've got something and are so adamant about what they have that it's agonizing. If I get a '95 Double Die penny, I'd rather spend it than waste my time on the cesspool that is the Modern Variety and Error forums. The educational value of that forum is negative.
Sorry for the rant, I was just ticked off at the arrogance of some people (not everyone, mainly directed at the OP) on this forum. Even the Chinese counterfeit dollar threads we get every week aren't this bad.

Defiantly looks like a 3 in the area after staring at it for a while but I do know when I am starving, a tire begins to look like a big ol chocolate donut! Thank you for your service sir!

Again, we have done that, we offered you information on your coin, we can see what you are referring to as a "3", and most here can tell that the size is much larger than the 3 actually used on 1943 wheat cents, bronze or otherwise. Whether or not it is damage, staining or something else I don't know, but what we can safely say is that... it is NOT an over date. If you don't believe us, that is fine, I often disagree with members opinions (especially when it comes to grading), but please be respectful, we have tried to help with your questions but you don't seem to want to listen, which is fine, but when you start getting nasty at us, it then becomes a problem. |
