I came across this 1982 p nickel with a error on the reverse. A good portion of Monticello,was not struck and a portion of cents below it is faded. What are your opinions ?

@mm, well it might have been Struck Through Grease on the reverse, but I guess with this much wear, I'm not positive. Perhaps just heavy circulation wear. Let's see what the others think.

Looks like a lot of things have happened to this coin. Even though not that old, it looks like it was struck with extreme wear on the dies. Heavy die flow on the fields. Distortion to the outer devices with a doing some time in a commercial dryer. Looks like vending machine damage on the outer devices. Circulation flattening and also possible Grease Fill on the reverse. All adds up to a face value coin. Keep the best, spend the rest. Put them back to work.
