Any information regarding this coin would be appreciated.

I appreciate the quality of the photos is not ideal, especially around the date, but had to take them in a rush.

3,000 or so genuine examples thought to exist.

I would guess that perhaps ten times? as many high quality fakes may exist. There has been an explosion in numbers of high quality fakes, mainly from China.

This questionable coin needs to be pictured again, but not under clear plastic. Also harder to to examine on screen pictures, rather than the actual coin.

For a more authoritative answer, you may wish to take it to Downies or other recognized professional coin dealer of high standing.

It is around the date that most of the examination effort is needed.
Shape of the '3' doesn't look quite right to me, but need better focused pictures to form a good opinion, if the metal in this area has been interfered with.

The first thing to look at even before the obvious date manipulation is the Obverse,if its English like this one its 99.9% sure to be a fake.

A fake 1930 penny is about the only way you will get to own a 1930 Penny.

Once fully confirmed as such, put in a 2x2 and mark it as "FAKE". There is no Law regarding owning such a coin.
Just don't attempt to sell it as genuine, that is breaking the Law.

Don't suppose you could give us a close-up of the date area?

The smarties used 1931 aligned Indians, removed the one and substituted a zero, the forgers talents ranged from bad to to excellent and often with imported Verdigris in key areas such as the date.
I'm sure some of the 'genuine' 1930's in collections are fakes as there was a rush/surge from overseas collectors in the 1960's,20 years too late to the party,to buy every 1930 available when the word got out.
David Gee probably churned a few Hundred out for pocket money as he went after the big cats.

There will be a book coming out within the next few years on the 1930 Penny that will cover the history of the fakes in a chapter or 2.

By 1970 as a young man,
I completed a type set of Australian pre decimal bronze and silver made up with the rarest date for type.
Included a '23 Halfpenny, a '39 Roo, a Melbourne Centenary, a '46 Penny, a '33 Shilling, a star '21 shilling, and a '32 Florin.

Except for the 1930 Penny. (substituted a 1925).

Even then, I knew that there existed comparatively few genuine 1930's, as compared to the huge proportion of excellent fakes.
