The frst one looks like lamination rather than a die chip.

Coppercoins, for my education, what ae you seeing in the first photo that tells you it is a die crack?

The raised line running from the rim to the corner of the Memorial just beneath the designer initials is the starting point. The crack runs along the base and then up the right side of the stairs into a retained chip. Probably not too many strikes after this coin, the retained portion fell out the die, creating chipped die strikes. A lamination would not appear as a line raised up from the fields, it would be a jagged crevice or a raised layer of metal.
