As most U.S. collectors know, plating problems with U.S. Cents abound, and thus are extremely common.
So common in fact, that I don't bother to collect plating errors.
Quite often, these U.S. Cents are single use only coins, much the same as single use plastic bags. I guess that may have been expected by the U.S. Mint, and explains why they are so often found in high grades - lots of individual coins only see a tiny amount of circulation.
