Looks like a fairly normal Wheat cent to me. What specifically are you seeing you want to ask us about?  to the CCF! |

@patdo, first welcome to CCF. When I crop this area of interest and then enlarge and enhance, it looks more like damage than a wildly mis-placed mintmark.  "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Hi thank you ..when I look down on coin it's hard to see any damage only ink dye ,in the picture I had to move coin around to show it

Ok interesting. It sounds like you are saying that it is a surface stain, right? Either way, it shouldn't affect the value of this nice Wheat cent. "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Only worth a few cents. The stain isn't considered an error.

My thought is that circulated, Philly mint wheat cents from the 1940s and 1950s are worth somewhere in the 3-5 cents apiece range. Let's see what others think though as I may be a little off.

If it were a mintmark, it would be raised. Even a small punch will show as a raised area on the coins fields.   If it is not raised, it is a stain. |

That's what is strange it look like it raised and filed down ..but u have to move coin around to see it It's a unique piece, it looks like Denver mint if u compare it to other d mint you will see how close they look . Thank you for your advice
