Here is the situation. You have $250 you must spend on post 1800 coins. What would you buy?

I would have spent it on the 1914-D LHC I was offered this weekend. Excluding that, I would acquire a piece or two for my 7070.

I would get a capped bust half, and spend the rest on a F12+ Barber quarter

I would get a key or semi-key date classic coin in problem-free lower grade that would be completely beyond my financial reach in high grade. Examples: 1811 Half Cent, 1809 or 1811 cent, 1838-O or 1863 Half Dime, 1912-S nickel, 1809 or 1859-S dime, 1815 or 1851-O quarter, 1839-O or 1871-CC half dollar, etc.

guys: He said post 1800's, so that means from 1900 to date. For $250: As many 1914 S Barber quarters, minimum grade of G-4, as I could find.

I think he said "post 1800," which just eliminates the 1700s.
However, coinsrus, if you meant "post 1899," then I would still buy a key or semi-key in problem-free lower grade that I could not afford in high grade. A 1914-S quarter in F-VF would be an excellent choice.

As many G-VG 1927-S SLQ's I could buy. I still believe this coin is a big time sleeper.
