The first pics show nice luster but the light is too strong. You're almost there actually with your pictures. You just need to dial in the lighting. Suggest a white background, a piece of copy paper is best. It's impossible to mentally adjust your pictures for mental, white balance correcting with anything but white.

The objective is a perpendicular picture and getting the lighting so it's not too much or too little. Try bring out the luster without too much light. Do you have a white balance option in your camera?

Notice in one of my pictures:

1) white background (that shows as white) - That's proper white balance.
2) Cartwheel spokes - you can gauge the luster but the coin is not over lit.

Not sure what you're using for light but I bought one of these a few months ago and I like it.

Thanks badthad. I should have white balance on my phone. Galaxy s9. Usually I use white background but didn't know it made a big difference. I recently started using copy paper which I will be going back to. Thanks for the advice and the link
