I bought a storage locker about 6 years ago and it had trunk full of old coins in it both from the US and throughout the world. I am wondering what this coin could be worth and if anyone can help out with this.

It is an 1861 Confederate Half Dollar. It has the initials T by 1861 The word liberty looks black where the rest of the coin is silver.

What is the best way to get this coin graded too see what it is worth?

Your "coin" is a cast counterfeit/replica. It would be worthless to me and most collectors. Somebody might want it for addition to a counterfeit collection ...... but only for a couple of bucks.

What else was in the storage locker trunk? Pictures of the trunk and coins would be cool!

Good luck!

I sold most of the coins some time ago. It has alot of war collectibles also. I still have alot of things that are not coin related. I do have some old pennies still and foreign money.

Yes, a cast copy. The "T" was a maker's mark, I believe. I've seen this same "T" stamp on Hard Times replicas, dated "1824" instead of 1834, being the date on original pieces. Many of these replicas and fantasy pieces were sold at tourist stops in the 1960's. History was a strong selling point during the Civil War centennial years.
