Definitely a Lamination flaw. Fairly common on these.

Seems like the rims are flatten more than normal on this coin. The more the flattening of the rims, the more damage happens to the faces of the coin. What is the weight of the coin. If it is under weight that might explain why the coin looks so beat in circulation?

I actually have it in a wartime silver nickel set. Screwed together so getting a weight is not easy.
