Thanks for the weight.

I just noticed this. Why did you post the image of the reverse edge upside down?

Because, on US coins, when you flip them over, they are upside down...

SPP-Ottawa, you mentioned you were sending this coin into PCGS... I assume you have learned they are closed until the coronavirus blows over? I'd like to see how PCGS handles this error. Please share things here once you get this unusual coin back from them.

Probably dropped in the chamber standing up, and then struck. That how I could see this happen.

Yup, it will be in my next batch of coins going to PCGS. Certifying and grading errors is expensive, so I have been patient waiting for a better exchange rate with the US-CAN dollar. Since I first posted this, the rate has gained favourably. $0.82 now, compared to $0.72 this time last year. It adds up when sending in a batch of 20 errors.

I save every Canadian coin I find/get in change. They all go into jug which I will take with me on my next visit.

I assume you mean you take them with you on your next visit to Canada? Please don't do that! Most Canadian shops have gotten out of the habit of dealing with cents, they look at them as a pain! They collect them and turn them into their banks who in turn give them back to the mint, taking them out of circulation. Sell them to me or another CCF member, help to save those cents! I m in Ohio (for now) and would gladly trade you for them!
