OK here is the coin. I was looking through my foreign coins today (for my for sale post) and found this making me think my eyes where going blurry. I guess it not my eyes after all.and I guess I better look at the rest of my dark-side coins.

That's what I was thinking, I'm seeing three images in several places. The doubling on the letters looks flat and shelflike, but the letters themselves are flat and shelflike, not rounded and there does seem to be clear separation at the serifs. I think tripled die.

A closer look at the leafs and stars shows triple die. The rest is double. The heaviest doubling is on the right side of the coin 3/4 of the coin has doubling

This coin is a tripled die (not triple die....tripled die). These are not usually a case of part-machine part-hub doubling, it's usually one or the other. Additionally, if one side of a coin has a tripled die as apparent in one area, the entire side is a tripled die. It's never doubled die here and tripled die there.

The attributes of the tripling indicate that this coin is class 5, pivoted hub tripling spread CW from K-10. This means that the tripling occurred with the die rotated on a pivot near the edge of the design around the 10:00 position, which is why there is little to no doubling (or tripling) on the left half of the design, and the stronger tripling is on the right side of the coin.

Another example of this same class of doubling on US coins is the famous 1995 DDO cent.
