Help Identifying What Caused 2001-D Lincoln Cent Error

Oldham New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 03/30/2020 03:26 am I search penny rolls for wheats and errors. This coin looked like it was just another damaged penny but the overlayed image and words jumped out. Can anyone help explain what may have caused this. I think it was struck a second time off center by the reverse die. Also the reverse side has some missing surface gleem. Ok that's all I know. Any help would be appreciated. It looks to me like a second coin was stuck to this one and then when they were separated, the remnant glue kept the impression of that other coin.
