Hello all. New to the forum.

but as far as this coin goes, I have a 1999 delaware with the identical error as this one.

what would a two coins to have the identical errors?

Possible Dryer Coin. In the commercial dryers you will see the reed edge flattened. Often it rolls over the edge of the devices. The longer is spends in the dryer, the more it will be affected on the rid it goes through there.

He was confusing diameter with thickness.

The edge is damaged. Something has flattened the reeded edge. That's why it's thicker than normal. I'm not sure if it's intentional damage, but I am sure it's not an error.
