I am not sure what I am looking at here. There seems to be a smearing of the letters in US of A and the E in EPU. Can anyone give me their opinion. I realize there is a spill of something that could have caused this damage, but hmmm. Thanks!

@Theresez13z, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks to me like those shallow, extra-broad letters (with the E of E PLURIBUS UNUM) almost completely gone could be the result of some grease in the die when this cent was struck.

Most likely a stain. Some cleaners will exhibit this. The other issues are post mint damage, ie. it got smooshed.
