I guess you meant a nickel, not a penny? The L on your nickel has just been damaged, the whole coin looks like it has had a rough life.

Yes it looks messed up, but @lcutler correctly points out that it is from damage rather than being a mint error. This one is a spender. Also, welcome to CCF!
