I like mint errors. That said, I only like those which are visible to the naked eye. If magnification is needed to view a coin error, I'll pass, but that's me. I have been collecting for many years and it's probably obvious my collection is rather limited. In those years, I have noticed a marked increase in the number of error categories and I wonder when it will end (never I suspect).
This is only my opinion and I would like to know if anyone thinks as I do.
My comments in no way cast any aspersions upon those are avid collectors.

Well it all depends on what you call errors. There is a difference between mint errors, die varieties, die events and damaged coins.

I pretty much collect every type of error and variety. I am not that picky, but that's just me. I've found plenty of Wide AM's.

What are the categories that you think have been created? I think it's pretty much the same things it's always been... There are a lot of non-errors or trivial errors that get marketed to new collectors as a scam, but that's always been done. My dad's old collection from the 70s has lots of BS in it like incredibly minor die chips that were given names by sellers to fleece kids out of their allowance. Same as now where you see things like "extra leaf" arizona quarters or "In God We Rust" Grease Filled Dies on Kansas.
