I hope I'm doing this right. This is my first attempt at a real post, and my first trying to post an image. I apologize up front for any mistakes, and if this question has been answered somewhere else. I found this error penny in a pile of loose change. I'm really new to this hobby, so I'd like to know what this kind of error is called, and if there's any value beyond as a curio. It has just enough detail to see it's a penny. Hopefully the picture is good enough. Right now all I have is a macro lens for my phone's camera. If you look closely you can just make out the bottom corner of the steps in the Lincoln Memorial and part of the "O" in "ONE CENT". Thanks, and please let me know how I can make better posts!  |

 nice find! I'm new to this forum, there are people here that will help you. Maybe take the lens off and take a picture of the obverse and reverse. Good luck |

It looks like an off center strike from here, but better pictures out of the 2x2 might be better. Nice find from pocket change! -CH27

It looks like a bonded coin error where another coin is bonded to the first coin. It is a great find. It appears that your picture is the obverse with the partial other coins reverse bonded at the bottom left. What about the other side of the coin's picture. To find out more, I would refer you to: ERROR-REF.com Great first posts. I am sure you will get much more knowlegable advice on your post.

To CCF! That's actually an Off-Center Strike. Great find! Put in a 2x2 for protection and make sure you wear gloves while handling. Errers and Varietys.

 with Earle and E&V, you have what is called an "off centre strike." Use this term in the upper left hand corner in the box "Search Coin Community" for a lot more info. I can also tell you what it isn't, it is NOT a "bonded coin error", not even close. to the CCF. Heck of a loose change find! Search ebay's sold listings to get a rough value. |

to the CCF! It's about 90% off center. Does the obverse of the coin show any strike details or is it just flat? ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

To reply to Yokozuna, the obverse shows most of "LIB" (top half of the B, anyway) and the "I" from "IN GOD WE TRUST". I'm not going to even attempt a picture of that until I get a handle on photographic coins.
Thanks to everyone who's replied so far. I'm spending a lot of time looking through coins from some family members' estates while stuck at home these days. I'm sure I will have lots to show and ask about when I can do it correctly.
