1970 D LMC Variety Or Error?

Hello all!
Are these two coins a representation of EDS and LDS?
Or different varieties or is one an error or are both just normal coins? I know one coin has a lot more wear but Abe looks way different.

You're referring to his chins..Right?
Coop just a few day ago put up some info regarding this, however I believe he was addressing the 1970S small/large dates...let's see if he tunes in, so we both can understand more..

I think the overall look of the bust is different, at least to me. That's why I was wandering if it had something to do with early die vs late die states. Or if they were just normal coins for year.

So one is a small date bust and the is large date bust.

There is not small date 1970-D or Plain Cents. Only the small date on the 1970-S cents. (These are a different die design for just these small dates on that year:

Die states are an entirely different subject. A closer/larger image would be a lot more helpful on these. But I see a slightly circulated coin and a well circulated coin posted here. Those are different die states, but circulation states of the coins. (The more circulated a coin is the lower the grade)
