That's better............will, not really. Yours is what they call a well circulated, post mint damaged, stained, dirty, beat-up, corroded Lincoln Shield cent. I would spend it before it dries up and blows away. But you're looking in the right spot though.

Yes, unfortunately your coin is stained. It's most likely from a cup holder. PSD.

Here is close up I see melting drips and a curl from the shield on the front of the coin.

@j42, for sure it is damaged, but kinda hard to know exactly how. With your most recent pic, I see some evidence of the coin being overheated. Perhaps it is a campfire coin?
