I've found a bunch of these 2017-P shield cents with extra thickness in the left fork of the "Y." It looks more pronounced than the two doubled working hub varieties shown on Wexler's, but I'm thinking it must be one of the two based on how many I've found. What do people here think? Posting one of the cents with the extra thickness on the "Y" on top with a normal 2017-P LSC on the bottom. Edited by SamCoin 04/08/2020 10:16 am

You need to put a filter on your light. John1

As far as this photo goes, I think it's pretty visible, but I would like to be able to take better pictures with my usb microscope if possible. How can I do that, John? I've just been using the LED light built into the scope without making any modifications.

My scope has a setting where you can turn off the LED while it's still on then I grab a flashlight. This helps control glare and light angle.

Try to diffuse the light by wrapping it with a white plastic grocery bag. That should help to cut the glare.

The first pic is definitely WWHO-002. The second is probably WWHO-001, but it's honestly difficult to tell without it being compared to a definite WWHO-001. I'd say check through Wexler's DDO listings to see if any have matching die markers, if not, it's probably safe to say it's the Doubled Working Hub.

Thanks, Tanman!
Unfortunately not an option, Yokozuna, since the light source is the LED light on my microscope. With it turned off, it just shows up as a black screen, and with it covered by a bag, I won't be able to see the coin.

as my previous post here says, turn off the LED and grab an outside light source like a flashlight. Good luck!

I tried, CoinHI, but my microscope is pretty cheap and needs to be less than a centimeter from the coin to focus. It's hard to get a light in there unless it's at a really steep angle, and then it just creates even more glare :/

I've noticed Welxer's site isn't working. Anyone else notice this. I sent him a message a few minutes ago.

Yeah, John Wexler's website has been down for hours. I've tried multiple times earlier to hop on, with no luck. It's still down right now.
Errers and Varietys.
